Brahma Sarovar, located in Kurukshetra, Haryana, is an ancient water tank sacred to Hinduism. The sarovar is a significant pilgrimage site, especially during solar eclipses, as bathing in its holy waters is considered to absolve one of sins.
The sarovar is 3,600 feet long, 1,800 feet wide, and 45 feet deep. It is surrounded by several temples, including a shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva, accessible by a small bridge.
The Gita Jayanti celebrations, held in the last week of November and early December, are a major attraction, featuring a deep daan ceremony of floating lamps and aarti.
