Chakra Teertham
Chakra Teertham, also known as Chakra Theertham, is a sacred water body located near Sila Thoranam in Tirumala, Chittoor district, Andhra Pradesh. According to local legend, Lord Brahma wanted to observe penance and cleanse the area, so Lord Vishnu plunged his Sudarshana Chakra, creating a crater for Lord Brahma to meditate. Water from nearby hill streams gushed into the crater, providing a natural water source.
The site is one of the seven holy theerthams in Seshagiri hills and holds significant religious importance. It is a popular spot for devotees who believe that visiting Chakra Teertham is equivalent to touching the Lotus Feet of Lord Venkateswara. The serene surroundings and the picturesque waterfall make it a peaceful retreat for visitors.
Chakra Teertham is also a part of the Brahmotsvam celebrations, where the idol of Lord Venkateswara is brought to the site. The area is well-connected and can be visited as part of a pilgrimage to Tirumala, offering a spiritual and rejuvenating experience.
