Commemorative Obelisk
The Commemorative Obelisk, also known as the Siege Monument, is located in Srirangapatna, near Mysuru, Karnataka. It was erected in 1907 by the Government of Mysore to honor the British officers and native soldiers who lost their lives during the siege of Srirangapatna on May 4, 1799, during the Fourth Anglo-Mysore War.
The obelisk is a tapering stone pillar with a square base and a conical top, supported on four cannon balls. At the base, four plaques commemorate the siege operations and the martyrdom of the soldiers.
