Daria Daulat Bagh

Daria Daulat Bagh, also known as Tipu Sultan's Summer Palace, is a historical gem located in Srirangapatna, near Mysuru in Karnataka. Built between 1784 and 1786 by Tipu Sultan, the son of Hyder Ali, this palace is a fine example of Indo-Saracenic architecture. The palace is constructed primarily of teakwood and is set amidst beautiful gardens, making it a serene retreat.

The palace features intricate frescoes and colorful paintings on its walls, pillars, and ceilings, depicting various historical events, including battles and portraits of Tipu Sultan and his contemporaries.

The interiors are adorned with floral motifs and artistic designs, showcasing the craftsmanship of the time. The upper chambers of the palace can be accessed through four staircases, and the Zenana quarters are equally beautiful with their elegant decorations.

Visitors to Daria Daulat Bagh can also explore the Tippu Sultan Museum located on the top floor of the palace, which houses a collection of artifacts, including European paintings, Persian manuscripts, and memorabilia related to Tipu Sultan. The museum offers a glimpse into the life and times of this historical figure.
