The Derjang Reservoir is located about 7 kilometers from Angul, Odisha, near the village of Majhika. Constructed between 1977 and 1978, the reservoir serves primarily for irrigation purposes and is the first medium irrigation project in the area. The dam is a zoned fill dam with a length of 1875 meters and a maximum height of 27.31 meters.
It intercepts a catchment area of 399 square kilometers and is fed by the rivers Lingara and Mathili.
