Panchasara Parshvanath Temple, located in Patan, Gujarat, is a revered Śvetāmbara Jain temple dedicated to Bhagwan Parshvanath. Built in the 8th century during the reign of Vanaraja Chavda, the temple holds immense historical and religious significance.
The temple features intricate carvings, domes, and artistic pillars, reflecting the grandeur of Jain architecture. The main sanctum houses a white marble idol of Parshvanath in Padmasana posture, adorned with an umbrella of seven hoods, symbolizing protection and enlightenment.
Originally constructed with wood, the temple was later rebuilt with stone after being destroyed by Muslim invaders. It remains one of the largest Jain temples in Patan, measuring 180 feet in length and 90 feet in width. The temple complex also includes Hemchandracharya Jain Library, which preserves ancient palm-leaf manuscripts and Jain scriptures.
