Tourist Attraction
Durgam Cheruvu
Durgam Cheruvu, also known as Raidurgam Cheruvu, is a freshwater lake spread over 83 acres located in the Rangareddy district near Hyderabad, Telangana. It is sometimes called the "Secret Lake" because it is hidden between the bustling localities of Jubilee Hills, Madhapur, and Raidurg. Historically, it served as the drinking water source for Golconda Fort residents during the Qutub Shahi dynasty.
The lake is now a popular recreational spot with features such as illuminated surroundings, artificial waterfalls, a rock garden, and a floating fountain. It offers activities like boating, fishing, rock climbing, trekking, and has an amphitheater and art installations, making it a favored destination for relaxation and adventure close to the city.
The iconic Durgam Cheruvu Cable Bridge, which spans the lake, connects Jubilee Hills to Madhapur and Hitech City and is renowned for its impressive design and lighting.
