East Bengal Ground (Football)

East Bengal Ground, also known as East Bengal–Aryan Ground, is the historic home stadium of the East Bengal football club in Kolkata, West Bengal. It has a seating capacity of around 23,500 spectators and is located in the Maidan area near Fort William and Eden Gardens. Established as East Bengal's ground in 1924 after successfully claiming part of Mohun Bagan’s shared ground, it served as a crucial venue for the club’s early games in the Calcutta Football League.

Over the years, the ground has undergone renovations, including the relaying of the playing field to a north-south orientation, installation of modern galleries, floodlights added in 2018, and improvements to facilities such as a member’s gallery, elevators, and a commentary box.

The stadium is primarily used for Calcutta Football League matches and training for East Bengal’s main team, youth, women's, and hockey teams. It remains a vital part of Kolkata’s football culture and witnessed many iconic matches, including memorable Kolkata derbies between East Bengal and Mohun Bagan, contributing greatly to the club’s rich legacy.
