The main canal is 48.55 kilometers long with a capacity of 4650 cusecs. The project was completed under the XI-Plan with an approved cost of Rs. 903.15 crores.
The canal system benefits around 105 thousand hectares of agricultural land, significantly aiding in the irrigation of crops. However, there have been delays in the construction of some branches, affecting farmers in the region.
