The Gumbaz-e-Shahi, also known as the Gumbaz, is a magnificent Islamic mausoleum located in Srirangapatna, near Mysuru, Karnataka. Built by Tipu Sultan between 1782 and 1784, the Gumbaz serves as the final resting place for Tipu Sultan, his father Hyder Ali, and his mother Fakhr-Un-Nisa.
The structure is renowned for its stunning Persian architecture, featuring a large rectangular garden with a central platform supporting the dome.
The Gumbaz is surrounded by a beautifully landscaped garden known as Lalbagh, which was said to have been planted with various species of flowering trees and plants collected by Tipu Sultan from Persia, Ottoman Turkey, Kabul, and French Mauritius.
