Renowned for its impressive medieval architecture and centuries-old sculpted temples, the fort was repeatedly renovated, most notably by Queen Ahilyabai Holkar in the 18th century, who also restored temples dedicated to Hinglaj Mata, Shiva, Ram, and Hanuman.
