Indian Institute of Information Technology, Raichur (IIIT–Raichur) is a public technical university located in Raichur district of Karnataka, set up by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, in 2019 under a Public–Private Partnership (PPP) model and later declared an “Institute of National Importance” under the IIITs law amendments.
It focuses exclusively on information technology and computer‑science–oriented engineering education, offering undergraduate programmes such as B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering and Electronics and Communication Engineering, with admission mainly through JEE Main and JoSAA counselling.
The institute started academic operations in 2019 from a temporary campus mentored by IIT Hyderabad and is now developing a modern permanent campus on about 74 acres in Raichur, featuring hostels, academic blocks, labs, and sports facilities.
IIIT Raichur emphasises a strong blend of theory and practical training, with good infrastructure, research‑oriented teaching, and industry‑linked programmes aimed at preparing students for careers in software development, data science, and related IT fields.
