Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden
The Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, is Asia's largest tulip garden, spread over an area of about 30 hectares (74 acres). Situated at the foothills of the Zabarwan Range, the garden offers stunning views of the Dal Lake. It was opened in 2007 with the aim of boosting floriculture and tourism in the Kashmir Valley.
The garden features over 1.7 million tulip bulbs in 73 varieties, along with other flowers like hyacinths, daffodils, and ranunculus. The garden is built in a terraced fashion with seven terraces, and a water channel flows through these terraces, adding to its charm. The annual Tulip Festival is a major attraction, showcasing the vibrant blooms and offering visitors a taste of Kashmiri culture through music, dance, local crafts, and cuisine.
