Indor Fort

Indor Fort in Nuh, Haryana, is a historic fort complex dating back to the 16th century with architectural features influenced by Mughal design, such as the use of Lakhori bricks. The fort was once part of a larger stronghold that served as the seat of Baloch chieftains, notably Asadullah Khan Baloch, and played a role in regional power struggles involving local rulers like Sanulba and Jawahar Singh of Bharatpur in the 18th century.

Over time, the fort area has been encroached upon by the surrounding development, leaving only a portion of the original structure intact, with walls exhibiting cracks and faded carvings. The fort compound now houses a police station and a government school, facilities that incorporated parts of the old fort during their construction, and it also served as a British-era prison.

Despite neglect and deterioration, some locals recall the fort's past grandeur, including its multiple rooms, tunnels, and a large wooden gate that once stood. Preservation efforts have been suggested as the site has heritage value and could attract tourism, but the fort currently remains in a fragile state amid urban surroundings.
