Jahangirabad Palace
Jahangirabad Palace, also known as Kaiser Bagh Palace, is a historic structure in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. Built between 1848 and 1850 by Wajid Ali Shah, the last Nawab of Awadh, the palace was designed to resemble his vision of Paradise.
The architecture blends Mughal, Persian, and European styles, featuring gilt crowns, pavilions, and statues that enhance its grandeur. The palace was once considered the most beautiful of all Awadh palaces, but much of it was destroyed by the British in 1858, who saw it as a stronghold of rebellion.
Despite this, remnants of its red sandstone structures, courtyards, and gardens still stand, offering a glimpse into its former splendor. The Baradari, a white stone structure that was once covered in silver, remains a notable feature.
