Jorpokhri

Jorpokhri is a small, peaceful village located about 19 to 23 kilometers from Darjeeling in West Bengal, situated on a hilltop at an altitude of around 7,400 feet. The name "Jorpokhri" means "twin lakes," referring to the two small, scenic lakes at the center of this village, which are surrounded by lush pine and juniper forests as part of the Senchal Wildlife Sanctuary. These lakes have concreted boundaries with seating areas and feature white swans and a decorative snake model with a fountain.
