Kaziranga National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in the Golaghat, Sonitpur, Biswanath, and Nagaon districts of Assam, India. It is renowned for being home to two-thirds of the world's population of the Great Indian One-Horned Rhinoceros.
The park covers an area of approximately 1,090 square kilometers and is a vital habitat for a variety of wildlife, including elephants, wild water buffalo, and swamp deer. Established in 1905, Kaziranga was declared a Tiger Reserve in 2006 and is also recognized as an Important Bird Area by BirdLife International.
The park's landscape features tall elephant grass, marshland, and dense tropical moist broadleaf forests, crisscrossed by four major rivers, including the Brahmaputra.
