Lakkidi, also known as Lakkidi Perur, is a small village in Ottapalam Taluk of Palakkad district in Kerala, located about 23 km west of Palakkad on the Palakkad-Pattambi road, with Ottapalam town approximately 10 km away. It was historically part of the Valluvanad Swaroopam dynasty, an erstwhile feudal state known for its conflicts with the Samoothiri of Kozhikode and celebrated for the Mamankam festivals held once every 12 years.
The village has a diverse population with Hindu, Muslim, and Christian communities, and most residents engage in farming and daily wage labor, with arecanut, coconut, and rubber cultivation being common. The climate is generally pleasant, though parts of the village can face drought during summer months.
