Lal Mahal, or the Red Palace, in Pune, Maharashtra, is a historic landmark built by Shahaji Bhosale in 1630 for his wife Jijabai and their son, Shivaji. It was here that Shivaji Maharaj spent his formative years, learning the arts of warfare and administration. Though the original structure was destroyed, the Pune Municipal Corporation reconstructed it in 1988, preserving its legacy.
Today, Lal Mahal stands as a museum, showcasing paintings, statues, and artifacts that reflect the rich heritage and valor of the Maratha Empire. It remains a symbol of Maratha pride, offering visitors a glimpse into the life and times of one of India's greatest warriors.
