Military Mandir

Military Mandir in Faizabad (Ayodhya), Uttar Pradesh, is a unique and deeply revered temple that blends spiritual devotion with patriotic reverence. Located within the Faizabad Cantonment area, this temple is not just a place of worship but a tribute to the valor and sacrifice of Indian soldiers.

Originally established in 1885 by the Central Military Police to serve the spiritual needs of military personnel, the temple underwent significant transformation in 1960 under the stewardship of the Dogra Regiment. It was then that the temple adopted a more elaborate Rajput architectural style, complete with stone carvings, murals, and paintings that depict India’s military history and honor fallen soldiers.

The temple complex houses idols of Lord Rama, Sita, Lakshmana, Hanuman, and Ganesha, and its walls are adorned with portraits of martyred soldiers, creating a powerful atmosphere of devotion and remembrance. The serene environment is enhanced by a well-maintained garden and the rhythmic sounds of bhajans and temple bells, often performed by army personnel themselves.
