The estate included four zamindari estates and was connected through kinship with other royal families in the region like Ranka Raj and Chainpur, all part of the Surwar clan. The Namudag royal family notably supported the Bhoodan movement by donating over a lakh acres of land. Namudag itself is a village located near Chhattarpur in Palamu district, close to the Jharkhand-Bihar border.
