National Institute of Technology, Karnataka (NIT-Karnataka)

National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK), also known as NIT Surathkal, located in Mangaluru, Karnataka, is one of India's premier public technical universities established in 1960 as Karnataka Regional Engineering College (KREC) and upgraded to NIT status in 2002, holding Institute of National Importance recognition under the Ministry of Education.

Nestled on a scenic 295-acre campus in Surathkal along NH-66 between the Arabian Sea and Western Ghats, about 22 km north of Mangaluru with excellent connectivity by road, rail, air, and sea, it offers B.Tech in 14 engineering branches like computer science, mechanical, electrical, civil, chemical, electronics, IT, metallurgical, mining, and materials; M.Tech, M.Sc., MBA, MCA, and Ph.D. programs across 13 departments and a school, admitting via JEE Main, GATE, and other exams.
