National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli (NIT-Tiruchirappalli)

The National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli (NIT Trichy or NITT), located in Thuvakudi near Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, is a premier public engineering institute established in 1964 as Regional Engineering College Tiruchirappalli through collaboration between the Governments of India and Tamil Nadu, upgraded to NIT status in 2003 and recognized as an Institute of National Importance.

Its vast 800-acre campus along National Highway 67 on the banks of the Cauvery River features academic blocks for 17 departments, central library, computer centers, hostels, sports facilities, bank, post office, swimming pool, and amenities like canteens and reprographic services, fostering a self-contained academic environment.

It offers 10 undergraduate BTech/BArch programs, 42 master's degrees including MTech, MSc, MBA, and MCA, plus 17 doctoral programs in engineering, management, sciences, architecture, computer applications, energy, and environment, awarding over 2,000 degrees yearly with admissions via JEE Main, GATE, and CCMT, consistently ranking top among NITs for its research, placements, and innovation under NEP 2020 initiatives like ITEP.
