Navlakha Temple
Navlakha Temple, located in Ghumli, Devbhoomi Dwarka, Gujarat, is an ancient Sun temple built by the Jethwa dynasty in the 11th century. It is considered the oldest Sun temple in Gujarat and showcases Maru-Gurjara (Solanki) architecture.
The temple's name, "Navlakha," signifies the nine lakh kori (an ancient currency) spent on its construction. The temple features intricate carvings, a grand sanctum sanctorum, and a large gathering hall. It originally had a Kirti Toran (entrance arch), which is now lost.
The mandapa (pillared hall) has eight-sided pillars, and the temple walls depict sculptures of Brahma-Savitri, Shiva-Parvati, and Lakshmi-Narayan.
