Ngengpui Wildlife Sanctuary in Mizoram, near Aizawl, spans about 110 square kilometers along the valley of the Ngengpui River, close to the Indo-Bangladesh and Indo-Myanmar borders. It features virgin tropical sub-tropical evergreen and semi-evergreen forests with altitudes ranging from 200 to 1,200 meters above sea level.
The sanctuary hosts diverse wildlife including elephants, tigers, clouded leopards, gaurs, barking deer, and various species of primates like hoolock gibbons and macaques, some of which are globally threatened. It is also home to rich birdlife including hornbills and pheasants, and a wide variety of reptiles.
