Pathar Masjid
Pathar Masjid, also known as Naev Masheed, is a historic mosque located in the old city of Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir. Built by Mughal Empress Noor Jehan in 1623, the mosque is unique for its stone construction, which sets it apart from the traditional wooden mosques in the region. The mosque features nine arches, with the central one being larger than the others.
Situated on the left bank of the River Jhelum, opposite the shrine of Khanqah-e-Moula, Pathar Masjid is a significant architectural and historical landmark. Despite its initial use for non-religious purposes, the mosque was reconverted into a place of worship in the early 1930s.
