The Pazhaya Sreekanteswaram Temple, also known as the Old Sreekanteswaram Temple, is one of the ancient Shiva temples in Kerala, located in Puthenchantha, Thiruvananthapuram.
According to renowned historian Elamkulam Kunjan Pillai, the temple dates back to the 9th century AD. It is considered the original abode of the deity of the newer Sreekanteswaram Mahadeva Temple, which is situated just outside the "North Fort" in Thiruvananthapuram.
The principal deity, Lord Shiva, is worshipped here as a linga called Sreekanteswara, believed to have been installed by Parashurama. The temple also features idols of Ganesha, Krishna, and serpent gods, all facing east.
