The fort was strategically constructed during campaigns against the Kachwaha rulers and later came under the control of the Naruka Rajput clan, who made it the capital of Alwar before shifting to Bala Quila.
The fort has a rich history of battles and rule by various dynasties, and its structure includes defensive walls, watchtowers, and temples such as those dedicated to Hanuman and Shiva.
