Ranbanka Palace, Jodhpur (now a heritage hotel)

Ranbanka Palace in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, was built in 1927 for Maharajadhiraj Sir Ajit Singh ji, the youngest son of Maharaja Sir Sardar Singh ji and a descendant of Jodhpur's founder Rao Jodha.

The palace showcases a unique blend of Rajput and Victorian architectural styles, featuring an elaborately carved red sandstone façade, high ceilings, intricate latticework, and a design that helps keep the interiors cool during hot summers. Historically, Sir Ajit Singh ji was known for his fairness, and the palace courtyard served as a gathering place for local dignitaries and villagers to discuss important issues.

The complex originally included jails, stables, a temple, a well, an orchard, and large traditional gardens. Converted into a heritage hotel around 2000, it offers modern luxury while preserving royal charm with 71 rooms in multiple wings, including suites with lavish interiors. The palace overlooks the majestic Mehrangarh Fort and Umaid Bhawan Palace, blending Marwar's royal heritage with colonial elegance.

Today, it functions as a prominent heritage hotel recognized by the Indian Ministry of Tourism, known for its warm hospitality, traditional Rajasthani cuisine, and as a favored venue for destination weddings and cultural events.
