Rangapahar Wildlife Sanctuary

Rangapahar Wildlife Sanctuary is located near Dimapur in Nagaland and spans an area of about 4.7 square kilometers. Established in 1986, it is known for its lush tropical and subtropical evergreen forests that support a wide variety of flora and fauna.

The sanctuary is home to several endangered and vulnerable species, including mammals like the Himalayan black bear, Asian elephant, spotted deer, sambar deer, golden jackal, and various primates. Bird species such as hornbills and pheasants, as well as reptiles like monitor lizards and pythons, are also found here.

The sanctuary's rich biodiversity and serene environment make it a notable destination for nature lovers, bird watchers, and wildlife enthusiasts. Nearby attractions include Dzukou Valley, Japfu Peak, and Kachari Ruins, enhancing its appeal as a nature and tourism spot.
