Ranmal Lake, also known as Lakhota Lake, is a beautiful and historic lake located in the heart of Jamnagar, Gujarat. Spread over approximately 5 lakh square meters, the lake is divided into three parts and is surrounded by tree-lined promenades, artistic gardens, and resting places like pavilions and bastions.
The lake was constructed by Jam Ranmalji II between 1820 and 1852 and serves as a serene retreat for both locals and tourists.
One of the most notable features of Ranmal Lake is the Lakhota Palace, an island fort located in the middle of the lake. Built by the same dynasty as a place to keep the royal arsenal, the palace now houses a small museum featuring weaponry, manuscripts, and pottery from the 9th to the 18th centuries.
