Satsar Lake
Satsar Lake, located in the Ganderbal district of Jammu and Kashmir, is a group of seven small alpine lakes spread over a narrow valley about 4 kilometers long at an elevation of around 3,600 meters (11,800 feet).
These lakes are fed by melting snow and surrounded by lush green meadows with colorful wildflowers, creating a stunning natural landscape. The area serves as a natural mountain pass between Tulail Valley and Sind Valley and is a popular destination for trekking and nature lovers, especially during the summer months from April to September.
Some lakes may dry up by late summer depending on rainfall, and the region is home to rare alpine flora and brown trout fish, which can be fished only with a license. The lakes are accessible by trekking from Naranag or Sonamarg and are part of the famous Kashmir Great Lakes Trek.
