Shri Shivdham

Shri Shivdham in Tinsukia, Assam, is a serene and spiritually vibrant temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. Nestled in the heart of the town, it stands out not only for its religious significance but also for its striking architecture. The temple is uniquely situated in the middle of a water kund, creating a tranquil ambiance that draws both devotees and tourists.

At its center, a beautifully sculpted statue of Lord Shiva sits in a meditative pose, surrounded by intricately carved pillars and lush gardens that enhance the temple’s peaceful atmosphere. During the month of Shravan, the temple becomes the focal point of the Bol Bam Rath Yatra, a devotional pilgrimage where saffron-clad Kanvarias walk from Namrup to Tinsukia, singing and dancing to spiritual music.

These pilgrims carry bamboo poles with water pots and offer abhisheka to the Shivalinga upon arrival, seeking blessings and spiritual fulfillment. The temple also hosts the Shivdham Mela during Shivratri, a fair that has been celebrated for decades and attracts thousands of worshippers from across the region.
