The Soundararaja Perumal Temple is a beautiful and historic temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu. The temple is known for its magnificent five-tiered Rajagopuram and its strong connections with Lord Kallazhagar of Madurai.
The temple was built in the 16th century during the rule of Achyuta Deva Raya and is an excellent example of Dravidian architecture. Lord Vishnu is worshipped here as Soundararaja Perumal, and his consort, Goddess Lakshmi, is worshipped as Kalyani Soundaravalli Thayaar.
