The Swarna River, also known as Suvarna River, is one of the major west-flowing rivers in the Udupi district of Karnataka. Originating from the foothills of the Western Ghats, the river is primarily rain-fed and experiences its peak flow during the monsoon season from June to September.

The river traverses through several villages, including Perdoor, Hiriyadka, Parika, Herga, Manipal, Perampalli, Uppoor, and Kallianpur, providing essential water for drinking, agriculture, and other needs.

The Swarna River is known for its serene and picturesque surroundings, with lush green paddy fields and coconut plantations lining its banks. The river eventually meets the Arabian Sea near the village of Kameshwara, creating a beautiful estuary that is a popular spot for nature lovers and tourists.
