Teen Chhatris
The Teen Chhatris in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, are a set of three Mughal-era tombs located in Indirapuram, near Makanpur village. These tombs, dating back to the 16th century, are known for their delicate red sandstone pillars, lotus finials, and blue tiles.
The structures were once visible from NH24, but due to rampant construction and high-rise buildings, they are now hidden from view.
Local lore suggests that one of the tombs is the grave of Sakka, a bhishti who saved Mughal Emperor Humayun's life during the Battle of Chausa. As a token of gratitude, Humayun made Sakka emperor for a day.
The tombs are in a dilapidated state, with one of the three chhatris almost completely gone and the others also breaking apart.
