Mountain Pass
Teram Kangri I
Teram Kangri I is the highest peak of the Teram Kangri group and the Siachen Muztagh subrange of the Karakoram range, situated on the boundary between the disputed China-controlled Trans-Karakoram Tract and the Siachen Glacier area controlled by India. The peak stands at approximately 7,462 meters (24,500 feet) and features a challenging climb due to its remote, glaciated terrain.
It was first climbed in 1975 by a Japanese expedition that approached via the Bilafond La pass. The mountain is significant both geographically and strategically due to its location amid contested regions. Teram Kangri holds historical and mountaineering importance, representing one of the highest and most difficult peaks in the Himalayas.
