Tosham Fort is a ruined medieval fort located on Tosham Hill in Bhiwani district, Haryana. It is believed to have been built during the time of Prithviraj Chauhan and later saw control by Tomar Rajputs under Anangpal Tomar. The fort once featured a Baradari (pavilion) and other structures, but much of it was destroyed in 1982 due to an aircraft crash on the fort.
Tosham Hill is also famous for the Tosham rock inscriptions, dating from the 4th to 5th centuries, which document the establishment of a monastery and water tanks by followers of the Satvata religion during the Gupta Empire era.
The area around Tosham has archaeological traces, including rock paintings and remnants of ancient mines and houses, reflecting a rich cultural and historical past shaped by various dynasties like the Guptas, Rajputs, Delhi Sultanate, Mughals, and British.
