Ulsoor Lake, also known as Halasuru Lake, is one of the largest and oldest lakes in Bengaluru, Karnataka. It is located on the eastern side of the city, near MG Road. The lake covers an area of approximately 50 hectares (123.6 acres) and is surrounded by lush greenery and islands. It was originally created by Sir Lewin Bentham Bowring, the then Commissioner of Bangalore, during the reign of Kempegowda II.
Ulsoor Lake is a popular spot for recreational activities such as boating, picnicking, and morning walks. The lake is open to the public from 6:00 am to 8:00 pm every day, except Wednesdays when it is closed. There is no entry fee for visitors. The lake is also home to a Sikh Gurudwara and several temples, adding to its spiritual significance.
