Valvan Dam, also known as Walwan Dam, is a gravity dam on the Indrayani River near Lonavla in the Pune district of Maharashtra. Constructed in 1916, the dam provides water to the nearby Khopoli Power Plant and supplies water to the residents of Lonavla, Khandala, and surrounding villages. The dam has a height of 26.36 meters (86.5 feet) and a length of 1,356 meters (4,449 feet).
The reservoir created by the dam, known as Valvan Lake, is a popular spot for picnics, boating, and enjoying the scenic beauty of the surrounding hills. The lush greenery and serene environment make it an ideal destination for a peaceful getaway.
