Constructed in 1916, the dam provides water to the nearby Khopoli Power Plant and supplies water to the residents of Lonavla, Khandala, and surrounding villages. The dam has a height of 26.36 meters (86.5 feet) and a length of 1,356 meters (4,449 feet).
