Vijay Stambh
Vijay Stambh, also known as the Tower of Victory, is a historic monument located within Chittorgarh Fort in Rajasthan. Built by Rana Kumbha in 1448 CE, it commemorates his victory over Mahmud Khilji, the Sultan of Malwa, in the Battle of Sarangpur.
The tower stands at a height of 37.19 meters and consists of nine stories, adorned with intricate carvings and inscriptions. Dedicated to Lord Vishnu, the structure is considered one of the finest examples of Rajput architecture, with detailed depictions of Hindu deities and mythological scenes.
The names of the architect, Sutradhar Jaita, and his three sons—Napa, Puja, and Poma—are inscribed on the fifth floor of the tower. The topmost story features an image of the Jain Goddess Padmavati, reflecting the religious pluralism practiced by the Rajputs.
