This mosque is one of the oldest in India, dating back to approximately 644 AD. It was established by Arab Muslim traders led by Hazarath Mohammed Malik Bin Deenar.
The mosque is known for its unique Dravidian architecture and is made entirely of wood. It features intricate carvings and a beautiful inner sanctum with 16 teakwood pillars. The mosque was renovated and beautified by Tipu Sultan in the 18th century, who also renamed it after his daughter, Zeenath Baksh.
