Darrang district is located in the state of Assam, India. It is situated in the western part of the state and is bordered by the Brahmaputra River to the north. The district headquarters is Mangaldai, which is also the largest town in the district.

Darrang has a rich cultural and historical heritage. It was once the capital of the Koch dynasty, an ancient kingdom that ruled the region. The district is known for its scenic beauty, with lush green fields, rolling hills, and picturesque tea gardens.
