Tikamgarh district is located in the northern part of Madhya Pradesh. It is bordered by Jhansi district of Uttar Pradesh to the north, Chhatarpur district to the south, Lalitpur district of Uttar Pradesh to the east, and Ashoknagar district to the west.
Tikamgarh district is a part of the Sagar Division of Madhya Pradesh. The district headquarters is located in the town of Tikamgarh.
