The Afghan Church, officially known as the Church of St. John the Evangelist, is a beautiful Anglican church located in Colaba, Mumbai, Maharashtra. It was built by the British between 1847 and 1858 to commemorate the soldiers who died in the First Anglo-Afghan War and the disastrous retreat from Kabul in 1842.
The church is known for its stunning Gothic architecture, including a 60-meter-high tower and spire, as well as some of the most beautiful stained-glass windows in Colaba. It's a significant historical and architectural landmark in Mumbai.
