As of early 2026, construction remains under implementation with "Notice to Proceed" status, targeting completion around late 2025, while initial MBBS batches have operated from temporary facilities in Srinagar. The institute will focus on advanced medical education, research, and tertiary care to address regional healthcare gaps.
