Safidon Fort, also known as the Ancient Fort of Safidon, is located in Jind district, Haryana, and was built in the 18th century by the rulers of Jind state, ancestors of the Phulkian family. It was the first fort constructed by these rulers and later served as a military cantonment for the state.
The fort features strong bastions designed for defense and security, reflecting typical fort architecture of the period. Safidon is traditionally linked to the Mahabharata, as it is believed that Janmejay, grandson of Arjuna, performed a snake-sacrificial ritual here. This historic fort is situated near the Nag Kshetra pilgrimage site in the heart of Safidon town and continues to be an important cultural and historical landmark in the region.
