The Bajrangarh Fort, also known as Jharkon Fort, is located in the Guna District of Madhya Pradesh. The fort was constructed around 1600 AD by Yadav (Ahir) King Jai Narayan of the Nandvanshi branch of the Gagron princely state. It later became part of the RaghoGarh state.
The fort is situated at an altitude of 303 feet on the banks of the Chapet River, about 10 kilometers southwest of Guna town. It covers an area of 72 bighas on a high hill. The fort has four gates in four directions, and inside, you can find structures like Moti Mahal, Rangmahal, Ram Mandir, and Bajrang Mandir, which are still intact. There is also a stepwell used for storing drinking water for horses.
The fort was attacked in 1816 AD during the reign of Raja Jai Singh, and after his defeat, the fort was destroyed. Despite its ruined state, the fort's bastions still look majestic and offer a glimpse into its historical significance.
