It is located at Project Veng within the town of Kolasib, 83 km from Aizawl City which is about two and half hours drive away. With its vertical narrow entrance drawing in rainwater it is more like a sinkhole, but the tunnel later forms into wide caverns with awe-inspiring rock formation and deep pools which are yet to be fully explored with proper equipment.
The fact that the cave system has no known outlet is quiet amazing, thus giving rise to a legend that the entire townis on top of an underground lake.
As a result nobody dared to explore it until recently, when on 29th January 2016 a group of adventurers called "Zotrek" undertook an expedition to explore the cave. The cave was explored upto a depth of 100 meters and was found to have exquisite rock formation with various chambers.
