Begumpur Mosque
Begumpur Mosque, also known as Begumpur Masjid, is a historic mosque located in Begumpur Village, South Delhi, near Malviya Nagar. Built in 1343 CE during the Tughlaq dynasty, it was originally a Friday mosque and is considered one of the oldest and strongest mosques in Delhi.
The mosque was designed by Zahiruddin al-Juyush, an Iranian architect, and features 64 domes, prayer corridors on three sides, and a grand blend of red sandstone and white marble. The mosque was once inhabited by settlers, turning it into a miniature fortress.
Today, it stands as a Monument of National Importance, under the supervision of the Archaeological Survey of India.
